The Michael Jackson movie is finally in theaters, I am so excited to see it! I thought I would do a fashion tribute to Michael Jackson. MJ always knew how to take fashion to the next level, he was a true fashion innovator. His ensembles were always memorable and made a statement. Alexander Wang, one of the hottest designers in the industry is always changing the look of fashion. In his Spring 2010 fashion show Wang emphasized the look of "comfy glamour" with oversized sweatshirts and making them sexy. Who would think that a sweatshirt could look so good. I love the khaki bustier over the heather grey sweatshirt, great combination! You dont have to splurge on Alexander Wang's creation you can easily copy this look. Just purchase a large grey sweatshirt so the sleeves are big (like shown below) and take in a few inches so the sweatshirt is form fitting and then wear any bustier you have over it. Remember to wear it with the right accessories, pants, and shoes. Keep it simple and sexy.

Lace has become one of Fall's hottest trends. The lace trend appeared in Prada's Fall '08 collection and since then its popularity rose. Lace is appearing everywhere; fashion runways, red carpet events, and the streets of Paris and New York. It has become a huge fashion statement. Fashion designers are reinventing the look of lace by using it with edgier silhouettes and colors. In Louis Vuitton's Fall 2009 collection, Marc Jacob the creative director, designed a blue cocktail dress with black lace. I think the color and fabric combination is brilliant, it creates a feminine but tough look. Also, Opening Ceremony designed a dress that is quite similar to Louis Vuitton's blue cocktail dress, the Latern Dress. This dress is so unique, it is described as flirty yet undeniably sophisticated. I love the cut out blue sweetheart top with fitted black lace top.

Animals prints are not just a trend anymore, they are becoming a fashion classic. Many fashion designers use animals prints in their couture creations such as Lanvin, Dolce and Gabanna, Blumarine and many more. The two popular animal prints we see in designer collections and stores are the Leopard and Zebra print, but we sometimes forget about snake, tiger, giraffe. Animal prints should be worn in small doses, don't overload on it, unless you are strutting down a runway. Keep it simple and understated.

One of my favorite looks of all time: a leather jacket over a long flowy dress. The first time I came across this look was on Ashley Olsen. She rocked it two years ago at a fashion event in NYC. Only a few months later Nicole Richie, Jessica Biel, and Misha Barton were seen wearing leather jackets over their long maxi dresses. Fast forward to October 13, 2009....While I was getting my daily dose of fashion on the web, I noticed a photo of Penelope Cruz. She, too, was wearing a leather jacket a over satin gown at a movie premiere she attended last evening. Evidently, this look is a red carpet classic. Leather jackets are a vital wardrobe piece; they turn any outfit into an edgy one.
